We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated Deputy Headteacher, who is a practising Catholic, to join our leadership team. This role is crucial in supporting the Headteacher to drive school improvement and maintain high standards of education. As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a key role in shaping our school’s strategic direction, fostering a positive school culture, and ensuring the wellbeing and progress of both students and staff. The role also includes some classroom responsibility.

For appointment to reserved posts in a school or academy trust, a ‘practising Catholic’ is to be defined as someone who has been sacramentally initiated into the Catholic Church and who adheres to those substantive life choices which do not impair them from receiving the sacraments of the Church and which will not be in any way detrimental or prejudicial to the religious ethos and character of the school. Inspired by the Gospel and sustained by God’s grace, a ‘practising Catholic’ will give sincere external expression to their interior faith through specific religious, moral, and ethical behaviour which is in accordance with the teaching of Christ and the Catholic Church.

  • A friendly, welcoming school with well-motivated children.
  • An opportunity to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking leadership team.
  • The opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students and the direction of the school.
  • Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities.
  • A welcoming and vibrant school community with strong ties to the local parish and families.
  • Highquality Trust-wide CPD.

For informal enquiries or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Michele Blunt (Headteacher) by email – michele.blunt@st-marys-whitstable.kcsp.org.uk.

Any offer of employment is subject to our Safeguarding checks, including satisfactory return of an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service, two references, online/social media checks and a pre-employment health history questionnaire.
