Today, a group of children in Years 3 and 4 attended a writing workshop with Alan Durant. He talked about his love of reading, why he became a writer and read a short story of his own creation. The children then had a go at generating their own ideas using story dice. After discussing the themes of some of his books, the children used shells, buttons and teeth as inspiration for their own stories. Alan shared brilliant advice with the children about how to improve and adapt their stories and they shared their wonderful creations with children from different schools in the area. Well done!
