Go Wild with Stories
We’re excited to share information about the second annual Canterbury Children’s Literature Festival, taking place from 10th–12th July 2026. The festival celebrates stories in all their forms, with events for children and young people of all ages — from babies through to teenagers. Many events are free or “pay as you feel.”
This year’s Story Competition theme is “Go Wild with Stories” and children can enter in the following categories:
📚 Written stories
🎨 Comics & illustrated stories
✍️ Poetry
Age groups:
5–11 years
12–16 years
The deadline for entries is 19th June.
Winning entries will be judged by author Lucy Strange and members of the festival team. Winners will receive book prizes for their class and have their work featured in a story trail during the festival in July.
