Dear Families

I am sure you will have all either seen the Prime Minister's address or have learned through another form of communication that Primary schools will now close to all children except those of critical workers and our most vulnerable children until February half term. Please believe me when I say that I understand and share your frustrations and the timing of this news has been particularly unfortunate.

Please rest assured that all of our staff will be working really hard to provide the highest standard of remote education possible and to this end your Academy Principals will be in touch tomorrow with details and arrangements for your child(ren) over the coming weeks.

St Mary’s will be open to vulnerable and children of critical workers in Year R, 1 and 2 only from Tuesday January 5th. These places have already been sorted out today and parents have been informed if their children have a place. Parents needing places for vulnerable/children of critical workers in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 should use the form below by midday on Tuesday 5th to register their child/ren. School will open for Y3-6 vulnerable/children of critical workers from Wednesday January 6th.

Remote learning via Purple Mash will commence from Tuesday January 5th for KS1 and Wednesday 6th for KS2.

For children attending school We will have our kitchens open and are expecting the children to come in wearing their school uniform and comfortable shoes. Please don’t worry if anything has been grown out of – we totally understand that all non-essential shops are closed.

For those Eligible for Free School Meals
We will be in touch as soon as possible regarding the provision of free school meals. We are arranging hampers for this week but going forward we will update you on how this will work when we have the details. We will also be in touch regarding the provision of technological devices for some of our families.

More details will follow but I just wanted to get in touch immediately following this evening’s important announcement.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers, kind regards
Vicki O’Halloran
Executive Principal
