Admissions Policies

Appeals

If your child is due to start primary school in September 2022 you can appeal, if you are not offered a place at one of your preferred schools, between 19th April - 17th May 2022.  You must submit your appeal before Tuesday 17th May 2022 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 19th July 2022.   For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.  For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.  Please click here for more information about how to appeal a school offer.

In Year Admissions

All applications for ‘In Year Admissions’ must be made directly to school. For ‘In Year Admissions’ please complete the In Year Casual Admissions Form (IYCAF) and a Supplementary Form found at the bottom of this page. Once complete both forms should be submitted to the school office. We will process your application and write to you.

Admission to school

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School accepts new pupils from all religious denominations and cultures; you do not have to be Catholic to be a member of the St Mary’s community. However, the admissions criteria gives preference to baptised Catholics.

Reception Class Admissions

We have some vacancies for YR. Please contact the school office for more information.

A Supplementary Information Form (Parts 1 & 2) will also need to be completed, it can be found at the end of the admissions policy document. This should be accompanied by any evidence of religious denomination and birth certificate.
